1. THE "NO-IDENTITY" MODEL
We have intentionally designed the App to function without traditional personal identifiers.
- Anonymous Accounts: We do not require your name, email address, or phone number to use the core features of the App.
- Self-Custody: Your account is secured via a private Mnemonic Phrase stored locally on your device. We do not have access to this phrase and cannot link your "Banana" balance to your real-world identity.
2. DATA MINIMIZATION & TRANSIENT PROCESSING
To provide our rewards and verification services, we process limited technical data using a "No-Retention" model.
- Precise Geolocation (Transient): To verify your presence at a Merchant’s location for a "Flash Mission," we perform a one-time check of your device's GPS coordinates at the exact moment of an NFC scan.
- No Storage: This data is processed strictly in-memory on our servers.
- Immediate Deletion: It is never written to a database and is discarded instantly after the verification is complete. We do not track your movements in the background.
- Transaction Events: We record the ID of the Merchant’s NFC tag and a timestamp. This allows us to credit your account with the correct reward and maintain your loyalty progress.
3. NO PAYMENT DATA REQUIRED FOR CORE USE
The core functionality of Banana Club™—earning "Bananas" and completing "Missions"—is free and requires no payment information.
- Optional Real-World Perks: You may optionally choose to purchase real-world merchant services (e.g., an in-store coffee subscription).
- Stripe Processing: These transactions are processed via Stripe. Stripe acts as an independent Data Controller and may collect your name and billing details to comply with financial regulations. Banana Club™ never stores or sees your payment card information.
4. DATA SOVEREIGNTY & SECURITY
- European Infrastructure: Our primary servers are located in Europe (via Scaleway) to ensure your data is processed according to high regulatory standards (UK/EU GDPR).
- Security Through Absence: By not storing sensitive data (like location history or names), we eliminate the risks associated with data breaches or unauthorized access.
5. YOUR RIGHTS (UK GDPR)
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to access, rectify, or erase data we hold about you.
